Walk between charming Cotswold villages, beside curving canals and rippling rivers. Learn how man's activies have shaped our green and pleasant land.
There is still a great deal of England which is very rural and best visited on foot. Let me guide you through not only some of the tourist hotspots such as Chipping Camden, but also lesser known places, rural Herefordshire with its cider making heritage for example or explore the fascinating geology of the Shropshire Hills.
Routes can be planned of varying distances and difficulty. Walks can be whole day or part of a day and can be combined with visits to places of interest such as the old lead mine at Snailbeach in Shropshire. They can be based on a theme such as following some of the canal network or old railway lines, or linking places such as those known to George Eliot whilst she was growing up in rural Warwickshire.
